Opportunity to Learn, Have Fun, and Support the BEAHRS ELP During this Tough Time

Beahrs ELP and Rausser alumni

Dear Berkeley, RCNR, and Beahrs ELP alumni,

We are in the midst of an emergency. The BEAHRS Environmental Leadership Program, which brings environmental leaders from around the world to Berkeley every summer to acquire knowledge and leadership skills and build a global network in Berkeley, is under threat from immigration policies and regulation. Some of the participants won’t be able to enter the country. We want the program to survive and thrive and Berkeley and college alumni can help us. I know it’s late, but we are giving alumni an incredible opportunity: study environmental issues, meet up-and-coming young environmental leaders around the world, and enjoy Berkeley, California by participating in the ELP. If we can get 5-10 people to join, it would make a big difference. The international participants will meet mainstream Americans, and we will all develop new friendships.

I am aware that this is very late, and people have made plans. But we live in a unique period. The government introduced unexpected regulations and changed rules at an unprecedented speed, and we must respond accordingly.

Every crisis is an opportunity, and I believe that president’s Trump polices provide a new opportunity. Let’s do it. The details are below

Go Beahrs,
